The 33 West Ontario Condominium Association, a 60-story high rise, has an opening for a full-time janitor and two openings for experienced maintenance staff members.

If hired, you will be required to join the SEIU Local 1 union after 30 days of successful employment. Benefits are afforded to the employee according to the union policies including paid-time-off, health, dental, pension, etc.

A janitor performs general cleaning of interior common areas and exterior grounds, as well as special assignments. Other essential functions are as follows:

Uses cleaning chemicals safely and properly
Removes garbage from common areas
Informs supervisors and Management of any issues concerning residents
Attends all required training and staff meetings
Maintains a clean and safe working environment
Sets up meeting rooms and for special events
Operates cleaning equipment
Snow removal
Performs light maintenance duties and work orders
Maintains a positive and professional demeanor
Adheres to all Association and management company policies and procedures
Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications include:

High school diploma
Pass a drug test and background check
Provide business references
Ability to lift up to 80#, stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout shift both indoors and outdoors
Ability to multi-task and adapt with ease to changing priorities
Solid communication and computer skills including ability to email, scan, print
Good vision and hearing
Professional image and demeanor
Detail oriented
Computer skills required

In addition to the list above, the Maintenance "A" positions require previous mechanical and plumbing experience. This position will be compensated for the later shift.

Current shifts available are as follows:

Maintenance Position "A" - Sundays through Thursdays 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Maintenance Position "A" - Tuesdays through Saturdays 1:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Janitor Position "C" – Sundays, Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. and Tuesdays 6:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. This shift also fills in for vacationing co-workers.

Hourly rate offered to applicant will be at least union rate or higher depending on experience and union training.
